Fun vegetarian hamburger!

Bento Love: Bear Bun

On the top is half of a veggie burger “bear”, with cheese & nori details. On the bottom are sweet potato waffle fries, apples, ketchup for dipping and a sucker with cheese star for dessert.

Here is Big D pretending she is a bear with her waffle fry ears :) heheh

With my husband being a vegetarian, we always have veggie burgers on hand.

I am lucky that the girls LOVE them. They are super healthy and are easy to heat up in no time at all.

I have also been trying to move away from regular fries….. substituting them with sweet potato fries.

So far I have tried the fries, waffle fries, and tater tots. All sweet potato versions have been received well. (Except for Darryl, he is not 100% sold)

Hope you enjoy!
XO  Corey

Cute! Why the switch to sweet potato fries, just a flavour change? I wonder if my kids would try them… they are weird, they don’t like potato french fries of any kind, not even tater tots! I’ve never offered them the sweet potato version though (I’m stingy, they are MY treat! heheh) My hubby is like Darryl, he finds them too sweet – but I like them with cinnamon, salt and chili spice!

@Candy Girl….No, not for flavor, but for health. Reg potatoes don’t do much for you, but raise your sugar levels (high glycemic index) Sweet potatoes have less calories, have a TON of vitamin A, are loaded with antioxidants, and are rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C & vitamin E :) Good, good stuff! I have never tried them with your spice concoction! I will have to give that a whirl :)

Cute lunch and great “sell” on the sweet potato fries! They are definitely a favorite at our house. I used to buy frozen ones but now I just usually cut my own… We usually make them with garlic salt and olive oil, but my husband made them with salt and cinnamon and I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised! If you want more information about making your own- here’s my post all about sweet potatoes!
