Back to School with Del Monte - Do you squeeze or spoon - FamilyFreshMeals.com

Are you gearing up for school lunch packing season? I know I am! I’ve already been hitting up Pinterest for ways to make lunch packing a breeze for the upcoming school year. Some lunchbox helpersI like to turn to areDel Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers and Fruit Cups.

Not only do I like toinclude them in mykids’ lunchbox, but they are also the perfect on-the-go snack. Neitherhave anyhigh fructose corn syrup nor artificial flavors, and both are an excellent source of Vitamin C.Are you following a gluten-free lifestyle? Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers and Fruit Cups are also gluten free!

The fruit cups come in endless varieties, but our favorites are the mandarin oranges (I swear Little D might turn into a mandarin orange with the amount she eats!), Tropical Fruit Blend and the new Pineapple Coconut.

What’s my favorite way to use Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers and Plastic Fruit Cups?I like to keep some Fruit Burst Squeezers in my freezer. When I am ready to pack my kid’s lunchbox, I’ll throw a frozenDel Monte Fruit Burst Squeezer into the lunch bag. The frozen pack acts as an ice pack and then when lunch rolls round, the pouch has thawed and is ready to enjoy!

As a work-from-home mom, I am always looking for waysto help my girls be more self-sufficient. Not only does this ease the many,“hey mom, can you get me _____”interruptions,but alsobuilds on their independence. Win-win!

This is why I started utilizing thissnack station. The snack basket is low enough for my kiddos to reach and full of yummy snacks my kiddos can easily grab. Both theDel Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers and Fruit Cups work great for this.

  1. Alice H says

We prefer to spoon. We have had and heard of a couple incidents were there is mold in the packages (and in Capri Suns too) so unless we can see it, we don’t eat/drink it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. Amy Gubser says

My oldest prefers to use a spoon. My youngest prefers to squeeze. And that is just the beginning of the differences in their personalities. :)

  3. Natalie Yarbrough says

My daughter loves to spoon which helps develop her eye-hand coordination :) Although squeezing may be less messy.

  4. Kristin says

My daughter actually loves both, but the squeeze is the choice for when we do anything outside the house.

  5. Emily says

My kids love to squeeze but I prefer they spoon (because it’s so much cheaper). In the end, I’m just happy they’re happy with their serving of fruit.

  6. Natalie J Vandenberghe says

My kids prefer to squeeze. I just read the comment Alice H. posted (above)…maybe I’ll start encouraging the kids to spoon more often. Sorry. Actually, I trust Del Monte products and wouldn’t expect them to be moldy!
