Crockpot Beef with Mushroom Gravy

Crockpot Beef with Mushroom Gravy - Family Fresh Meals

This Slow Cooker Beef Recipe has so much flavor!

Brr! Fall has definitely set in. Even here in Florida, the nights are getting a bit chilly, and in some parts of the country it’s not getting above 50 even in the middle of the day. Looks like it’s time to break out those wool sweaters and flannel sheets.

Nippy weather like this calls for heartier fare than the light salads and grilled dishes we’ve been enjoying all summer. It’s wonderful to come in out of the cold to a kitchen filled with the smell of something hot and savory, like a nice, thick stew. A bowl of that makes a very welcome warmer-upper for your hands and for your belly.

My new Crockpot Beef with Mushroom Gravy fills this bill perfectly. It’s full of rich, hearty flavors that are perfect for fall, with cubed beef, mushrooms, and onions floating in a thick, creamy gravy.

It’s really easy to make, too. All you have to do is season the beef and give the onions and mushrooms a quick turn in the frying pan before tossing everything in the slow cooker. They’ll simmer there happily all day, filling the whole kitchen with a warm, appetizing aroma that your family will love coming to come home to.

Just dish it up over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles, and you’ve got a complete and very satisfying meal.

    1. I used strew meat that was already cut up from the butcher.

I do not have a Crockpot but this recipe looks wonderful. What’s the best way to make this on in a Dutch Oven on top of the stove please?

This is a great recipe. The only change I made was on the Lawry’ s Seasoning because it’s loaded with added MSG and I have no wish to be hospitalized. I used Mrs Dash Original seasoning which has no added MSG and is in low sodium. Otherwise I followed the recipe. It was great served over garlic mashed potatoes.

  3. Hi Kathi what kind of beef did you use? Was it tender?

    Thanks, Lindsay:)

    1. Hi Lindsay – I used the stew beef that you get in the meat department and some of the pieces were really big so I cut them in half. Yes, it was fork tender. Served it over garlic mashed potatoes. Yum!!!!!

  4. Oh ok that’s what I used thanks. It turned out great I’ll definitely be making it again:)

No joke, this is what we are having for Thanksgiving! Our store ran out of hams and I thought why not go with a blockbuster we both enjoy? It is my favorite so far of all your fantastic recipes! Smells delicious from the very first, sauteeing (sp?) mushrooms and onions—and those six hours just drag when you smell that in the house. I followed the recipe exactly; I recommend the same to everyone.
    ❤️ Thank you.

I would probably sear the meat in the same pan used for the veggies. Otherwise looks good!
