Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats

Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats - FamilyFreshMeals.com

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Rice Krispie treats have a lot going for them. They’re yummy, they’re really easy to make—and best of all, there are lots of ways to dress them up. I’ve already made Rice Krispie monsters for Halloween and Rice Krispie Santa hats for Christmas, so I figured it was time to do a little something Krispie for Valentine’s Day.

This recipe starts with a batch of plain Rice Krispie treats. I’ve got a recipe that can give you fool proof soft and chewy treats every time…but if you’re pressed for time, the packaged bars also work fine. Then, you stick a paper straw in each treat to turn it into a Rice Krispie pop. (I found my paper straws at the dollar store, but party stores have them too.)

Now it’s time to get dipping! First, you dip the pop into melted dark chocolate. Then, you dip the bottom of it in sprinkles. I used white sprinkles here, but red and pink would also look nice.

For the finishing touch, you melt a batch of pink candy melts, and you drizzle them over the chocolate-coated pops. You can do it on just one side to save time, or go all out and do the other side once the first one has hardened.

And presto…your ordinary Rice Krispie treat is now a Valentine you can eat!

5. Repeat the candy melting process for the pink candy melts, using remaining vegetable oil. Allow to cool slightly, about five minutes. Use a fork to quickly, but carefully, drizzle over the chocolate-covered portion of the pops. Allow to harden, then repeat on other side if desired.

Those look so delicious! I’m adding this recipe to our February homeschool kitchen, though ours will not look nearly as pretty.

  2. Just a quick question. If I were to make these using the pre packaged rice krispises and then wrap in a bag with a ribbon how long do you think they would stay fresh ?? TIA

  3. If I make ahead how should I store them

    1. I would store them in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
