Recipe Notes:

  • Apply some nonstick cooking spray to your hands and fingers to prevent the freshly made Halloween popcorn balls from sticking to you when rolling the mixture into balls.
  • You don’t need to insert popsicle sticks into these Halloween treats but it does make it much easier to handle them.
  • This recipe makes about 6 Halloween popcorn balls. You can adjust the size of your popcorn balls to make more or less popcorn balls or simply double the recipe if you are preparing these treats for a crowd.
  • Another cute way to serve these Halloween popcorn balls is in Halloween-inspired cupcake liners. It’ll make them easy to hold as bite-sized treats without mess.

Can I make the Halloween Popcorn Balls using a microwave?

Absolutely! If you’re making these treats with the kids, then I’d suggest making them in the microwave to avoid any stovetop burn accidents. You will need to stir the butter, marshmallows, and caramel candies during intervals when using the microwave.

What variations can I make to the Halloween Popcorn Balls?

1. Use any preferred candy in these popcorn balls. While I used Reese’s Pieces, you could use M&Ms.
2. Add chopped nuts for extra flavor and crunch.
3. Use different colored chocolate for the coating and drizzle.
4. Experiment with different types and colors of sprinkles.
