Easy Creamy Prosciutto Cracker Appetizer

Easy Creamy Prosciutto Cracker Appetizer Recipe - Family Fresh Meals

We’re about to head into that whirlwind of activity called “the holidays.” From Thanksgiving through New Year’s, it’s going to be one long round of parties. And if you’re like me, you’ll find yourself offering to bring a little something for the buffet table.

But what should that something be?

My advice is to go with an appetizer. Any kind of main course that will really excite and impress all the guests is going to be a lot of work, but there are lots of crowd-pleasing appetizers that are really quite easy.

Here’s a perfect example: my Easy Creamy Prosciutto Cracker Appetizer. It’s just a cracker topped with seasoned cream cheese, a little curl of prosciutto, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkling of parsley. It could hardly be easier to make, but it looks fancy and tastes delicious.

Pretty much any cracker will work for this. I went with Ritz, but you can use whatever kind you like best. No matter what you choose, the guests are guaranteed to gobble them up.

Very tasty. However, we did the day before of the event and kept it in the fridge. All crackers were soggy. A total loss!

    1. Yeah, anything having to do with crackers should be done the day of.

    2. What a surprise! Of course they would be soggy!

Everyone at the party loved them! Making them again for another gathering, this time using dairy-free cream cheese.

  3. Would it be ok to make them a couple hours ahead?

    1. Yep, but make sure to store them in the refrigerator 🙂

Loved the recipe. Just wondering if you can substitute the minced garlic for powdered garlic for those that don’t like raw garlic.

    1. Yes, that would work just fine 🙂 I would start with a little and work in a little more garlic powered to taste.

Recipe was great, making them again today but using regular cream cheese. My husband has a texture issue and the whipped he wasn’t a fan of.

I have made this twice now and the crackers always become a soggy mess. This last time I made them 30 minutes before serving them and they were already all soggy by the time guests had a chance to enjoy them. Going to try a harder style cracker the next time and hopefully it doesn’t absorb the cream cheese mixture so quickly and ruin the crackers crunch. They are wonderfully delicious if you eat them literally right after you make them. It’s a shame the crackers get soggy so quickly
