Crockpot Brussels Sprouts

Crockpot Brussels Sprouts are an easy way to get a flavorful veggie side dish on the table without taking up space in the oven. The Brussels sprouts cook until tender in the slow cooker, then get finished with balsamic glaze and crispy bacon. They’re especially handy for holiday dinners when every burner and oven rack seems to be spoken for. But they’re easy enough to serve with a weeknight dinner, too.

Crockpot Brussel Sprouts - Family Fresh Meals Recipe
Can I use frozen Brussels sprouts?

Fresh Brussels sprouts are the better choice for this recipe. Frozen Brussels sprouts contain more moisture and will usually become much softer in the slow cooker.

Will Brussels sprouts get crispy in the Crockpot?

No. A slow cooker traps moisture, so the Brussels sprouts will be tender rather than crisp. If crispy edges are important to you, transfer them to a baking sheet and briefly broil them after slow cooking.

How do I make balsamic glaze if I don’t have any?

You can make your own by gently simmering balsamic vinegar until it reduces and thickens into a glaze. Stir it regularly as it reduces. Keep in mind that it will continue to thicken a little as it cools.

How do you make the honey balsamic glaze

    1. I buy mine at our local market. But if you do not have that option, all you have to do is simmer balsamic vinegar until it becomes a thick glaze. Make sure to stir often.
