- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 ounce packet of taco seasoning
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 cups chunky salsa
- 4 cups beef broth
- 16 ounce box of pasta shells
- 8 ounces brick marbled cheddar cheese shredded
- Optional garnish minced cilantro
Place the ground beef in a large saucepan on the stove and sprinkle with the taco seasoning packet.
Brown over medium heat until cooked through, crumbling and mixing as you cook, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain off and discard any excess grease.
Add in the minced garlic and cook for one more minute or until fragrant.
Stir in the salsa and beef broth, and then bring to a boil.
Pour in the pasta and stir well, then reduce to a simmer.
Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked through but not mushy. Be sure to stir frequently so that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan.
Once the pasta is finished, turn off the heat and stir in the marbled cheddar cheese until fully melted and combined.
Serve hot, garnished with minced cilantro, optional.
