Stick of Butter Beef and Rice Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long grain white rice uncooked
  • 10.5 oz can condensed French onion soup
  • 10.5 oz can condensed beef consommé
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, sliced into pats
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F.
 In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain off excess grease.

  • In a 9x13-inch baking dish, combine the uncooked rice, French onion soup, beef consommé, cooked ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper.

  • Stir to mix evenly.
 Lay the butter slices evenly over the top of the mixture.
 Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  • Remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for another 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

  • Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff and stir gently before serving. Enjoy!
