Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 cups cooked chicken diced or shredded
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 32- ounce bag frozen tater tots

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds - 1 minute or until fragrant.
