Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet onions cut into thick slices
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter cut into pieces
  • 1 cup smoked Gouda cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • Fresh thyme for serving

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350° F and spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray. Lay the onion slices over the bottom of the pan.

  • Combine the garlic powder, thyme, oregano, and cayenne pepper and sprinkle over the onions. Place the butter pieces around the onions.

  • Sprinkle with the cheese and place in the oven.

  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the onions are tender.
