- 4 large sweet onions cut into thick slices
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup butter cut into pieces
- 1 cup smoked Gouda cheese shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- Fresh thyme for serving
Heat the oven to 350° F and spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray. Lay the onion slices over the bottom of the pan.
Combine the garlic powder, thyme, oregano, and cayenne pepper and sprinkle over the onions. Place the butter pieces around the onions.
Sprinkle with the cheese and place in the oven.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the onions are tender.
