Shamrock Pretzels

Shamrock Pretzels - FamilyFreshMeals.com -

Top o’ the morning, everyone!

Why am I suddenly talking like a leprechaun, you ask? Why, sure and it’s because it’s almost time for St. Patrick’s Day…when everyone gets to be Irish for a day.

So I sort of had shamrocks on the brain, and it suddenly hit me: a pretzel has almost the same heart shape as a shamrock leaf. So if you stick three of them together – and color them green – you can make a shamrock!

But how do you stick them together, you ask? And how do you make them green? And the answer is, with green candy melts. These are basically white chocolate that’s dyed in all kinds of bright colors. You can find them at craft stores like Michael’s, online HERE or sometimes at party supply stores. They melt right up in the microwave, and you can just coat your pretzels in them and arrange them on a lollipop stick.

Freeze that until it’s solid, and ta-da,,,it’s a magical shamrock wand for your favorite leprechaun!

To create the shamrock out of pretzels twists, you will sit 3 next to each other so the sides touch. The
melted chocolate will act like a glue and hold them together!

1. Add about 1 cup of green candy melts to a microwave safe dish. Heat the candy for 1 minute. Mix and heat again for 30 seconds at a time until creamy and smooth.
