Santa Hat Holiday Jello Shots

One of my favorite things to do with my kids at Christmas time is make special holiday desserts. They especially love the ones that are dressed up in holiday style, like my Santa Hat Rice Krispie Treats and my little Snowman Cups.

But this year I got to thinking, why should the kids get to have all the fun? Why not make a holiday-themed treat that’s just for the grownups? Like, say, a special Christmas cocktail?

Of course, the problem with that is that most cocktails are just liquid, so it’s kind of hard to decorate them. So the obvious call was to go with the one kind of cocktail that comes in a mostly solid form: a Jell-o shot!

These Santa Hat Holiday Jello Shots are the classic mixture of Jell-o and vodka, but dressed up as little Santa Clauses with white beards (made of vanilla icing) and hats (whole, fresh strawberries with a dap of icing on the tip). Trot them out at your next holiday party, and they are sure to bring smiles to every face twice – once when they see those cute little Santas, and once when they gulp them down.
