Copycat Chick Fil A Nuggets Recipe - Family Fresh Meals

The best chicken nuggets recipe around!

A couple of months back, I shared my secret for making a copycat sauce just like the one they serve at Chick-fil-A. With this special recipe, I figured I’d never have to go out for Chick-fil-A again; I could just serve this magical secret sauce with my own homemade chicken.

But before long, I ran into a snag. Because Chick-fil-A sauce isn’t just a sauce for chicken; it’s really ideal for chicken nuggets. And I didn’t have a recipe for those.

Sure, you can always buy frozen chicken tenders, and those work just fine with the sauce. But it just bugged me a bit. I thought, if I can make the sauce myself, could it really be that hard to whip up my own nuggets?

As it turns out, no. In fact, it’s pretty easy. Just cut up some chicken breasts, dip them in egg and flour, and fry them for a few minutes in a hot pan. It’s much less work than making real fried chicken, and much tastier than serving frozen nuggets.

So now, when I get a craving for Chick-fil-A, I can have the whole package – nuggets, sauce, and all – without having to leave home.Copycat Chick Fil A Nuggets - Ingredients on a white counter

  1. I try to avoid deep frying. Do you think I’d get a decent result if I misted the tenders w/oil, baked them in the oven on a rack – turning them over when they’re halfway done? Should I raise the oven temperature to (perhaps) 400 deg.?

  2. Will this work in an air fryer?

  3. Another copycat recipe said to marinate in dill pickle juice. (Weird, I know) Do you think this would be good to do?

    1. Lacee Nyberg says:

Yes! Add the pickle juice to the milk and egg mixture. I use buttermilk but everything else is the same. I definitely recommend letting it sit for an hour or longer, even overnight.
