Holiday Muddy Buddies Chex Mix Recipe
Believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner. That means holiday parties, holiday visits – and of course, holiday snacks for all those guests.
Here’s a special sweet treat that should please all your guests, both young and old. It’s a version of muddy buddies, a dangerously addictive snack made from Chex cereal coated in melted chocolate and peanut butter and tossed with powdered sugar. (Seriously, don’t put the bowl too close to you, or you’ll eat the whole thing.)

To put a holiday spin on it, I switched out the regular chocolate for white chocolate, then dyed the powdered sugar with red and green food coloring. I dipped some of the cereal in the red sugar, some in the green, and left the rest white to give it a classic holiday color scheme.
Then to make it look extra snazzy, I topped it off with some festive sprinkles. I went for red and green jimmies, but you can use any color or shape that looks fun and seasonal to you.
Put a bowl of Holiday Muddy Buddies Chex Mix out at your next holiday gathering, and watch it put a smile on every mouth it goes into.
Holiday Muddy Buddies Chex Mix
1 bag Rice Chex
1 cup chopped white chocolate (chips or candiquik)
½ cup peanut butter
½ stick butter
1 cup powdered sugar, divided in half
Red and green food coloring
Festive sprinkles
1. Place all of your Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
2. Melt together white chocolate, peanut butter, and butter in a saucepan on low-medium until smooth. Stir frequently so it doesn’t burn.
3. Pour into bowl with cereal, blend gently to coat everything.
4. Take out half of your cereal mixture. Dived that half equally between two large zip top bags. Put half your powdered sugar in each bag, along with a few drops of food coloring.
Close and shake until coated.
5. Pour out onto a large sheet of parchment paper to dry for 10 minutes.
6. Pour cereal left in the bowl on top, mix with your hands, and add in festive sprinkles. Let dry on parchment paper.
7. Once dry, combine all chex mix together and serve.
OR…. Bag them up and hand out to friends and family!
