Halloween Lunchbox Ideas and Free Lunchbox Notes
When I was a kid, I always looked forward to holidays. Any holiday – Thanksgiving to Christmas, Valentine’s to Easter, and on through the year. It didn’t even matter what the holiday was about. The point was that a holiday was a special day, a break in the routine. It was a day when new and interesting things were sure to happen.
Now that I’m a mom, I want to see my kids enjoy that same thrill of anticipation. So in the days running up to a holiday, I always like to do something special. Nothing major, just a little something extra to add to the excitement.
My favorite way to do that is to pack them a special, holiday-themed lunch. Right now we’ve got Halloween coming up, so I’ve come up with a whole series of fun and scary treats to pack for them. Pumpkin and witch shapes, skeleton cookies and ghost fruit salad – it all adds to the Halloween spirit,

But if you don’t have time to pack your kids a spooky lunch every day, that’s okay – you can still liven up their lunchtime by slipping a little note in with the sandwich. To give you some ideas, I’ve posted two free printable PDFs here at the bottom of the post. There’s one with a Halloween theme and one with a fall theme, both complete with adorable little pictures and totally corny jokes.
