Honey Glazed Fruit Salad

Honey Glazed Fruit Salad - Family Fresh Meals Recipe

When you’re trying to eat healthy, the biggest challenge is dessert. When it comes to dinner itself, there are lots of healthy options that actually taste good. With salads, soups, lean meats, fresh fish, whole grains, and veggies, you’ll never have to feel deprived.

But coming up with a healthier dessert is a much bigger challenge. Because let’s face it, from cake to pie to ice cream, most desserts just aren’t that good for you. And going to bed without any dessert just isn’t much fun.

The solution the experts usually offer to this dilemma is fresh fruit. And sure, an apple or a banana is tasty and good for you. But it’s not exactly a treat.

Honey Glazed Fruit Salad Recipe - served in small white bowls - Family Fresh Meals

What we need is a little something to give fresh fruit a bit more interest. And I have just the thing: honey glaze.

This Honey Glazed Fruit Salad takes seven fabulous fresh fruits – strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, grapes, kiwis, mandarin oranges, and bananas – and tosses them together with a sweet, citrusy honey glaze dressing. Instead of covering up their natural flavors, it brings them out and makes them sparkle.

Topped with this special glaze, a bowl of mixed fruit isn’t just a fruit salad – it’s dessert.

  1. I know exactly what you mean about fruit not feeling like a treat. This looks sooo yummy. How long does it last? Does the glaze make the fruit soggy after a while? Also could I use bottled orange juice instead? Thanks!

    1. I would eat the fruit salad with in 1-3 days. Ours only lasted 1.5 days! If all you have on hand is bottled orange juice, I think that would work out just fine.
