DIY Cheese and Crackers Lunchables

DIY Cheese and Crackers Lunchables - Family Fresh Meals Lunch Box Idea

The first time I saw Lunchables at the grocery store, I thought they were kind of nutty. I mean, why buy a plastic package full of crackers and cheese when it’s so easy to pack your own?

But after a while, I started to see the appeal. Kids just like having their lunch sorted into those neat little sections, like a puzzle with different pieces to put together. And because all those sections are filled with things they like, it makes packing lunches a lot easier if your kids are picky eaters.DIY Cheese and Crackers Lunchables - cheese slices on a cutting board - Family Fresh Meals

I still don’t buy them, though. Instead, I use my favorite EasyLunchBoxes to pack up my own, with an even bigger assortment of tasty, healthy, and kid-friendly foods.

Here’s an example: DIY Cheese and Cracker Lunchables. In one section, healthy multi-grain crackers. In another, not one, not two, but three types of cheese to put on those crackers. And to round out the lunch, apple slices, grapes, and almonds – three healthy snacks you won’t find in any of those plastic packages.

Put it all together, and you can give your kids a lunch that’s good for them and fun for them, all in one.DIY Cheese and Crackers Lunchables - Easy Lunch Idea - Family Fresh Meals

  1. Just out of curiosity, if you are going to put sliced apples in the lunchables, how are you going to keep the apple from turning brown before the lunchables gets eaten?

    1. If you have a problem with apples browning, soaking them in a water/lemon juice or water/sprite mix helps slow down that process.
