As soon as September rolled in, I couldn’t wait to get into the Fall mode. I LOVE Fall, LOVE Halloween and LOVE Thanksgiving. So, I couldn’t wait to share this fun Fall Appetizer with you!

We are huge fans of cheese balls, so I knew this recipe would go over well in my household. I was right.. young and old devoured this cheese ball. Best of all, it was soooooo EASY to make. Make sure to add this simple appetizer recipe to your Fall Party list!

How to Make The Perfect Fall Cheese Ball

The Perfect Fall Cheese Ball

This is no ordinary cheese ball. This is the cheese ball that will get your friends asking: How did you make that Perfect Fall Cheese Ball!

Ingredients
 

  • 16 oz cream cheese room temp
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp minced onion
  • 3 tbsp salsa
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 cups nacho cheese chips crumbled
  • top of 1 bell pepper for stem garnish

Instructions

  • With a mixer, combine cream cheese, cheddar, onion, salsa and cumin. Mix until creamy.
  • Scoop mixture onto plastic wrap and use wrap to form a ball and chill for at least 2 hours.
  • When ready to serve, roll ball into the crushed nacho chips and place bell pepper stem on top. Serve with chips, vegetables or pretzels!

    I agree with the person who said this can be made vegan with tofutti cream cheese. I added Vegan follow your heart cheddar cheese, and spicy sweet chili doritos are vegan friendly. I also added Mrs Renfros mango habanero salsa for a sweet spicy kick.

    You could mix in a package of taco seasoning for spice. I would also separate the cheese mixture and make two pumpkins, instead of one.

  3. I would love to try this for a party this Friday night! Could granulated onion powder be used instead of minced onion? If so, how much would you recommend? Maybe 1 tsp (same as the cumin)? Can’t wait to try this.

    Wow- cumin and salsa, who knew!? I did a variation of this cheese ball but I used those two as my secret ingredients and it got totally eaten up at my party with high reviews. I was wary at first but I’ll be using more of your recipes after this great success. Thanks!
