Just print it out, looks simple. Thanks for sharing!

You could make it vegan by using Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese (which lives up to its name!) flavoured with wonderful herbs and spices and leaving out the cheddar. Very cute idea! Thanks!

I love this! How clever using crushed chips to coat it! Jen

Can you eat this with crackers too?
Corey @ Family Fresh Meals says
Absolutely! Crackers, chips, vegetables, pretzels…the options are ENDLESS!
Kara Edmark says
This is chilling in the fridge as I type this. I am so excited to bring it to a party tomorrow night. I added a little dark beer, so hopefully it isn’t too liquid-y… Either way I’m sure it will be delicious!
Corey @ Family Fresh Meals says
Sweet! I make a beer dip that is similar to this cheese ball recipe. I bet your ball will turn out GREAT! YUM 🙂
Heather Armstrong says
Kara, How did it turn out with the beer? And how much did you put in it?

I’m going to a halloween party this weekend and want to bring this cheese ball. There will be 25-30 people should I double the recipe? If so are two smaller balls better than one large one?
Corey @ Family Fresh Meals says
I like the idea of doing 2 small balls. You could keep one chilling for when the first one is gone. Or, you could also play around with a second flavor? Maybe make one spicy by adding some red pepper flakes or some hot sauce to the mix? Hope you have fun at your party! XO

Thank you 🙂 I like the idea of adding some spice to it.

It came out great! After seeing how big the first one was I didn’t need the second one. Everyone loved it.

When making this for people with allergies, do you have any suggestions on how to make a crust that would still be orange without using something with wheat or grains in it? Like nuts of some sort?
Corey @ Family Fresh Meals says
I think sunflower seeds would look cool! You could add some orange bell pepper cut outs to make a jack ‘o lantern face to give it a touch of orange.

I made it and it was great, the crushed doritoes are a nice touch!

I loved this. My cream cheese was slightly softer than what I thought was good for a cheeseball so I thinned it out just a little more with greek yogurt, added 1/2 tsp of chili powder and dubbed it taco dip. Thanks for the inspiration. Next time I will use a different brand of cream cheese so I can do the cheeseball because I think it is SO stinking cute.

I made this for my club get together last night. Everyone loved it. Easy to make and perfect for fall 🙂
Corey says
Awesome Cheryl! I am so glad everyone loved it 🙂
Catherine says
Made it – loved it! Very impressive looking appetizer. I used Hot Salsa and also served crackers in addition to the Nachos.
Michelle says
I’m making this cute thing for a get together that is 1 1/2 hrs away. Would the Doritos get too yucky if I put them on before the drive? Thanks for your help.
Corey says
I think that should be ok 🙂
Darcy says
Do you think this could be made ahead and frozen? or stored in the fridge for a few days? I want to make this for Thanksgiving and I’m trying not to do too much the day of and the day before. It sounds delicious though!
Aashna says
Hi
I’m trying to make this but have tub philadelphia cream cheese and not the blocks 🙁 do you think it would still work and form into a ball? I have 7 hours before I have to serve tonight. If you could reply when you get a minute it, I would really appreciate 🙂 Thanks!!
Corey says
I have only made it with the brick, but I do think the tub will work just fine. If it doesn’t seem thick enough, add some extra shredded cheese 🙂 Hope that helps!
Monica says
I have made this for a couple of different parties an everybody loves it. Thank you for sharing!
Patsy Rigdon says
Sounds delicious!!!
Kathy says
When do you take the plastic wrap off the ball? Sounds great!
Shannon says
I agree with the person who said this can be made vegan with tofutti cream cheese. I added Vegan follow your heart cheddar cheese, and spicy sweet chili doritos are vegan friendly. I also added Mrs Renfros mango habanero salsa for a sweet spicy kick.
Leigh says
You could mix in a package of taco seasoning for spice. I would also separate the cheese mixture and make two pumpkins, instead of one.
Erin says
I would love to try this for a party this Friday night! Could granulated onion powder be used instead of minced onion? If so, how much would you recommend? Maybe 1 tsp (same as the cumin)? Can’t wait to try this.
Corey says
I think that should work Erin. Let me know how it works out!
Bridget says
This tasted a great as it looked. Big hit at my company potluck. Thank you for the great recipe!
Jessica says
Wow- cumin and salsa, who knew!? I did a variation of this cheese ball but I used those two as my secret ingredients and it got totally eaten up at my party with high reviews. I was wary at first but I’ll be using more of your recipes after this great success. Thanks!
Natalie says
Would it work w green onion? Looks like you used white. I’m not a cook but I have had some great cheese balls w green onion and wasn’t sure if that would work w this one.
Melissa V. says
I made this over Halloween, and my family liked it so much I’m making it again for Christmas, tomorrow. I wanted a little more salsa flavor so I added a can of Rotel, which I drained, squeezed through a colander, then dried with paper towels. I’m going to try to make a tree decorated with cilantro and pepitas as with a small pepper star.
Ashli in Little Rock, AR says
I made this for a Halloween party last night and it was a huge hit. I used the whipped tub type of cream cheese and it firmed up just fine. So much easier to work with than the block kind. Also, I used chopped green onions because I had them on hand, worked just fine. I do think, however, that 2 cups of crushed Doritos for the coating is way too much. I coated mine very thick and still had a cup of crumbs leftover. I added more cumin and other Tex-Mex spices (chili powder, red pepper) to add more spice. GREAT RECIPE, everyone loved it and it was so cute. Thanks!

I haven’t made this, but I ate it and loved it. Making for a party on Saturday. I’ll share the goodness!!
