Crockpot Chicken Parmesan Recipe - How to make Chicken Parmesan in the crockpot!

Have you ever noticed how dishes that seem really simple are sometimes a lot of work to make?

Take chicken parmesan, for instance. It’s just breaded chicken cutlets, topped with cheese and red sauce. What could be simpler?

But this simple dish actually has a lot of steps. You have to pound the chicken breasts flat, dredge them in flour, dip them in egg, coat them in crumbs, then fry each on in a pan until it’s crispy. And once all that’s done, you have to put them on a baking sheet and top them with the tomato sauce and cheese, and cook them until the cheese melts.

Well, forget it, I say. Why should I do all that work when I’ve got a perfectly good Crockpot?

My Crockpot Chicken Parmesan takes most of the work out of cooking this classic dish. No pounding, no frying, no baking – just dunk the chicken breasts in egg and bread crumbs, put them in the crock, add the cheese and the sauce, and let the Crockpot do the rest.

Do this in the morning, and by dinnertime you’ll have delicious homemade chicken parmesan all ready and waiting. Just fix some spaghetti to go with it, and dinner is served

How to Make Crockpot Chicken Parmesan

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Spread the 2 Tablespoons of olive oil into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Place egg in a bowl, and beat with a fork. Set Aside. Mix the bread crumbs with the seasonings and the Parmesan cheese in another separate dish.
  3. Dip the chicken into the egg, then into the bread crumb mixture, coating both sides with crumbs, cheese and seasonings.

Ingredients
 

  • 2-3 boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced in half (to make thin cuts of meat)
  • ½ cup Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24 oz jarred marinara sauce
  • extra Parmesan Cheese for topping

Instructions

    This recipe worked, but there was WAY too much sauce!! Luckily I had only added about 15 oz of sauce before i realized how much sauce there was, and when it was finished cooking, I couldn’t even find the chicken under all the sauce. Oh well. Next time I’ll adjust for way less sauce.
