Although I’m all about home cooking, I do understand the appeal of a fast-food lunch. In the middle of a busy day, it’s nice to be able to just cruise by the drive-through and grab a nice, hot meal, all ready to eat. And let’s face it, a bag of Chick-Fil-A chicken strips with their special, spicy-sweet dipping sauce is just plain tasty.

Fortunately, with the help of my EasyLunchBoxes,  I can fix a homemade lunch box that’s just as yummy, and just as easy to eat on the go. I just pop a handful of ready-made chicken tenders into the biggest compartment, along with a little cup of my homemade Copycat Chik-Fil-A Sauce for dipping. If you have a microwave handy, you can heat up the tenders at lunchtime, but if not, they taste just fine at room temperature.

Then I fill in the rest of the box with healthy side snacks – some grapes, baby carrots, and a few crunchy pretzels for a little carb boost. That makes this homemade lunch a lot healthier than the drive-through, but just as satisfying.

  1. Did you buy frozen chicken tenders and then heat them in oven and then put in lunch to reheat in microwave? I’m ok with that, just trying to figure out how that works.

    1. Yes, or sometimes I just eat them at room temperature. 🙂
