Candied Bacon Cracker Appetizer
I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get enough of foods that are both salty and sweet. Like my Salted Caramel Smoothie…or my Sweet Chili Glazed Ham…or my festive Mardi Gras Snack Mix. There’s something about that combination of sweet and salty flavors that just makes your whole mouth come alive.
Which, of course, is why I absolutely love candied bacon.
This salty-sweet treat makes absolutely everything better. It’s delicious by itself, adds a great flavor punch to sweet potatoes, and can even be a cupcake topping. So when I was trying to think up a simple party appetizer that would be both easy and delicious, I realized candied bacon was definitely the key.

This Candied Bacon Cracker Appetizer could hardly be simpler. It’s just Ritz crackers, topped with smallish pieces of bacon, sprinkled with brown sugar, and baked. As they cook, the bacon gets crisp and develops a sweet coating of melted brown sugar. And that salty sweetness drips down onto the crackers, so they get soaked in it too.
Serve these at any party, from a casual get-together to a fancy shindig, and watch the taste thrill spread right around the room.
