Ingredient Notes

- Apple pie filling: The base of this delicious apple dessert, giving every bite tender, sweet apples and cozy spice.
- Pumpkin pie spice: Adds warmth and depth; you can also substitute apple pie spice for extra fall flavor.
- Caramel syrup: Creates that gooey caramel swirl that makes this dessert irresistible.
- White cake mix: The secret shortcut—just sprinkle this dry cake mix right on top! You can also try yellow cake mix, spice cake mix, or French vanilla cake mix for fun twists.
- Salted butter: When baked, the melted butter turns the top of the cake mix into a crisp, golden brown crust with buttery flavor.
- Vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce: Optional, but the best part if you ask us—especially when the cake is served warm.

Nope! Just sprinkle the mix evenly and let the melted butter soak in—it forms its own crust as it bakes.
Any dry cake mix works! Try white, yellow, spice, or French vanilla cake mix from your grocery store.
Absolutely. It’s one of the easiest desserts to convert to a slow cooker or crock pot—just cook on low 4 hours or high 2 hours until filling is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
