Cheesy Honey Mustard Ham Rolls
A baked ham is a great way to feed a big crowd. It really comes in handy for holiday gatherings…Easter, of course, but also Christmas and sometimes even Thanksgiving.
The only problem is, what if your family isn’t big enough to eat up a whole ham right down to the bone? What do you do with all the leftovers?
Here’s just one way to answer that question: Honey Mustard Ham and Cheese Rolls. These are adorable little bite-sized rolls with diced ham, cheddar, and honey-mustard spread, all rolled up together in strips of pizza dough and baked. (Using the packaged pizza dough that comes in a tube makes the recipe quick and easy.)

Brushed with a mix of melted butter, garlic, and dried parsley, the rolls come out a gorgeous golden brown. They look like little blossoms with the ham and cheese peeping out between the layers of dough. And if you think they look good, just wait until you taste them.
You can serve these as an appetizer – say, for a cocktail party – or to dress up a dinner with a plain main course. They work nicely with spaghetti, for instance. The only thing you probably don’t want to serve them with is more ham…that would just be too much of a good thing.
Cheesy Honey Mustard Ham Rolls
INGREDIENTS:
1 tube Pillsbury pizza dough
2 cups ham, diced small
8 slices cheddar or American cheese
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
3 tbsp Honey
¼ cup butter, melted
½ tsp garlic, minced
sprinkling Parsley, dried
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Roll out the pizza dough and using a rolling pin, roll it to about ¼ inch thick.
2. In a bowl, mix the Dijon mustard and the honey. Spread it liberally over the surface of the pizza dough.
3. Sprinkle the diced ham evenly over the dough.
4. Lay the cheese over the ham, covering as much to the end of the dough (and break apart some pieces to cover large bare spots)
5. Carefully roll the dough up starting from the long side.
6. When the dough is completely rolled, make 2” cuts with a sharp knife. After each roll is cut, place cut side down in a greased baking dish.
7. Bake in the oven for approximately 20 – 25 minutes.
8. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic and parsley together. When cooking time is complete, remove from the oven and brush the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture.

What a yummy way to used leftover ham! Crescent rolls have never-ending uses. I cannot wait to give this one a try.
Can these be baked in a muffin pan?
Sure Linda! Great idea 🙂
Those look really good! It’s nice having alternatives. Instead of doing the same old things with ham leftovers. What a great idea! Thanks!
I’ll bet those would be good spread with pizza sauce, diced pepperoni, and mozzarella, too. (I like to briefly microwave pepperoni on paper towels and covered by same to get some of the grease out first, or a little longer so they crisp too and can be crumbled like bacon.) Maybe even spread the dough with a tapenade instead, also? I must pick up some tubes of pizza dough!
What a fun little recipe! I often pulse ham bits in the food processor for soups, and a always have shredded cheeses. This is a sweetheart idea for two seniors! Thank you. I plan to set mine in an oversized cupcake tin, to take advantage of all that crusty goodness.
I love this idea, but here in Australia I don’t think I have ever seen Pizza Dough in a tube.
Could I use frozen and then thawed Puff Pastry sheets instead?
Sure, I think that should work Suzanne. The cooking times might be different, so make sure to check the rolls often.
