Who says dip has to be savory?
OK, pop quiz time. Just off the top of your head, can you name five kinds of dip?
I’ll bet you could, and I’ll also bet I can guess what at least some of them were. The classic onion dip was probably on the list, and also some type of bean dip. Then maybe hummus, and maybe a fancy one like my famous beer dip.
What do all those dips have in common? They’re all savory-as in, not sweet. They’re good for an appetizer or maybe a main course, but definitely not a dessert. But who says dip can’t be sweet? Why can’t you have all the lush sweetness of a decadent dessert and all the fun of a dip, combined? Guess what…you can.
This Creamy Oreo Dip Dessert is the best of both worlds. As sinfully sweet and luscious as the most extravagant layer cake, but as much fun to eat as any party dip. And as simple to make too-just whip everything together in the mixer bowl. What could be easier?
And the best part of all is, you can dip cookies into the dip. vanilla wafers, animal crackers-even mini Oreos! I mean, think about it-Oreos with Oreo dip! It’s an Oreo explosion! Oreo to the next level! OK, I’ll calm down now. But seriously, it is awesomely good.

Whipped cream?Like Cool Whip or whipping cream?
Corey says
Yes, Like cool whip 🙂 Or you could whip your own whipping cream to make whipped cream and measure from there 🙂
Allison says
Made this for a party today and it was a big hit! Served it with graham crackers.
mags says
How long will this stay stable , in say , a cooler ? or does it need to be consumed right away ?
Corey says
Sorry Mags, I have never traveled with this dip in a cooler. I think it would be best to serve directly from the fridge, but if you have a well iced-cooler, I would just use your best judgement. Sorry I can’t be more help. I hope you love the dip.

Emmi says
What purpose does the butter serve in this recipe?
Could I use marscapone instead of cream cheese?
Whipping cream, or Cool Whip?
A response would be much appreciated, can’t wait to try this recipe out!
Corey says
Emmi,
I have only made this recipe as I have written it…but yes, I think whipping cream would work great, but het mascarpone might be a little more liquidly than cream cheese, so just be aware of that and perhaps add more whipping cream.

I’m in a nursing home and they just give us a spoon and no cookie. It’s my favorite. How many servings could I get out of this. I get to go home once a week to make dinner for my grand children and I’d love to Make it.
Corey says
This serves about 10 Lynn. I hope your grandchildren love it!
Cheryl says
I made this it taste a little too cream cheesey for my taste. Any recommended modifications to make it sweeter?
Haley says
What is up butter????
Corey says
Sorry about that Haley, there was a weird space between the “c” and “u” in cup. I fixed it. It is cup not up of butter 🙂
Carrie S says
Do I use the whole container of cool whip? Thanks!
Corey says
You use 1 cup of whipped cream Carrie.
Lauren says
Hello!
Would you recommend using regular Oreos or double stuff Oreos for this recipe?
Thanks!
Corey says
I mean, double stuffed would make a creamier dip, but regular oreos will work as well.
