Help your system recover from the holiday binge.
Crockpot Detox Soup
Well, the holidays are over. Now all that’s left is the post-holiday guilt.
Let’s be honest, the holidays tend to be one long round of self-indulgence. We kick it off by stuffing ourselves with turkey and pie on Thanksgiving, spend all of December munching on cookies and sipping eggnog, and top it all off with perhaps just one too many glasses of champagne on New Year’s Eve. That leaves many of us starting off the new year with indigestion and a few extra pounds to lose.
This Crockpot Detox Soup is the perfect antidote. It’s got tons of veggies in a bright array of colors – carrots, onions, green beans, red kidney beans, tomatoes, cabbage, spinach, and celery – to pump your system full of all those vitamins it’s been missing out on. A couple of chicken breasts add some nice, lean protein with no extra fat to weigh you down.
This has everything your body needs without any of the junk you’ve been feeding it all through December. All it needs is a good whole-grain bread to make a complete, healthy meal.
Serve this for dinner a few times in January, and your body should be back on track for a healthy 2019.

Detox or not, this soup sounds incredible! We LOVE veggies, so this is right up our alley. BTW, how large is one ‘serving’ (hope it’s HUGE!)
Paige says
I cannot have tomatoes……what can I substitute?
Corey says
You can leave those out Paige
Lori says
Does this soup freeze well? Looks delish, but
I cook for one.
Valerie Sawyer says
I freeze it and it’s just as good if not better Lori.

Sandra Ceremelli says
Instead of the raw chicken breasts could you just add rotisserie chicken? How much?
Angelica says
4 breasts is about a pound, so probably the whole rotisserie chicken, including dark meat for an equivalent amount of meat.
Erin says
Can you make this recipe with frozen chicken?
Sabita Reddy says
I like the recipe, can i avoid beef broth ?
Corey says
You could use chicken or veggies broth instead Sabita

I made this recipe last night, and oh my, it is absolutely delicious! It’s exactly what I needed to start the New Year out eating healthy. I love crockpot soup so much, and I have to say this is by far my favorite. It turned out so great! The cabbage is perfect, my broth is dreamy and light, and packed full of veggies! I did add a half a cup of corn as well (I love corn). I’m super proud of the outcome. My hobby is cooking and trying new things, so thank you so much! It was wonderful. I will be following a lot of your other recipes in the future. Happy New Year!

This soup is so good. Loved it. And, it was so easy. Thank you for such an amazing recipe.
FayRay says
This recipe was absolutely delicious! It made enough for our family of 4 + some to put in the frig for leftovers and some for the freezer for another night.
FayRay says
Our boys that are in grade school both loved it!
Corey says
So happy to hear that!
Jen k says
Does it have to be chicken? I have some sausages, wonder if that would be just as good?
Corey says
I have only made the recipe as written, but I think sausage would work out great!
Katie says
I love recipes like this. I make it sometimes without meat, use low salt beef broth , low salt tomatoes & frozen mixed vegetables. Delicious!
Kathi says
Great soup. But I used Better than Bouillon Chicken base instead of the Beef brouth. When I was all finished cooking, I pureed the whole pot – until it was smooth. Made a great hot drink on a cold morning. Thanks for posting and it tasted great.
Patsy says
This was very, very tasty!!!! Loved that it was healthy but hearty with the chicken. I used one sleeve of Costco chicken breast, which was two nice sized breasts. Plenty. Will add more celery next time. Topped each bowl with freshly grated SHARP provolone cheese, Will make again! Could add corn as suggested. Thank you!
