Shrimp and Sausage Foil Packets
With the summer heat going full blast, we’ve been cooking a lot of our meals outdoors on the grill. Fortunately, there are lots of things that are delicious to grill, like shrimp, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes.
The problem is, if you grill all these things separately, they all get done at different times. What I wanted was a way to grill them all together, as one big mixed dish.
Looks like a job for the foil packet!

If you read the recipe for my Bacon Ranch Potatoes Grill Foil Packet, you already know how aluminum foil can change the way you cook in the summertime. All you have to do is cut your ingredients up into small, quick-cooking pieces, wrap them up in a piece of foil, and pop that packet on the grill.
And sure enough, this trick worked like a charm for my all-in-one grilled dinner. I cut up the sausage, corn, and potatoes into little chunks, and tossed these together with the whole shrimp and some seasonings. After 20 minutes on a hot grill, the Shrimp and Sausage Foil Packets are cooked through, hot and juicy, with all the flavors blended nicely together.
Bring it on, summer…as long as I’ve got foil, I’m a match for you!
Shrimp and Sausage Foil Packets
Ingredients:
½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
6oz smoked sausage, sliced
2 cob corn, cut into pieces
½ lb potatoes, cut into small chunks
2 Tablespoons olive oil
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the grill to 400 degrees F. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients, and mix well to incorporate.
- Take two large sheets of foil, and divide the ingredients equally between to the two.
- Fold the sheets up to seal the contents. **If the foil is thin, then wrap the content with another sheet of foil.
- Grill for 18 – 20 minutes flipping the packets once through the cooking time. Be very careful upon opening as there is a lot of steam!
