Skillet Apple Pie Dessert Biscuits
With the holidays coming up, there’s two kinds of recipes we could all use a few more of. The first is breakfast dishes that can feed a group, which come in handy when you’ve got a houseful of relatives. And the second is desserts, because a special time of year calls for special treats.
Well, good news, folks: My new Skillet Apple Pie Dessert Biscuits is good for both purposes.
This is an old-fashioned, country-style dish, baked in an ovenproof skillet. Just load that skillet up with frozen biscuits and top them with diced, sweetened, cinnamon-spiced apples, and pop it in the oven. As it bakes, the sweet and spicy juice from the apples oozes right into the biscuits, so they come out tender, golden, and bursting with apple flavor. Add a drizzle of white icing if you like, or just serve it plain – it’s good either way.

You can make this in the morning and serve it up at the breakfast table, where it should easily feed six to eight hungry guests. Or you can make it in the evening, as a light dessert to round off a family dinner. Either way, it’s a cozy country treat that will bring a smile to everyone at the table.
