This sounds easy and good. Do you boil the tortellini before adding it to the dish?
Thank you for the is great meal idea!
Corey says
Nope. That is the beauty of it. Only 2 minutes to get it all ready. Just throw the tortellini or ravioli in! Hope you love it Janet! XO
Lea says
I have frozen cheese tortellini, will that work?
Corey says
I think so Lea, I would just bump up the cooking time 🙂 Let me know how it goes and how long you ended up cooking it for 🙂
Christine says
I used the ‘ready in minutes’ frozen tortellini and didn’t change anything. Turned out really well. Delicious!
Melinda says
I just have to let you know, I just made this and we LOVE it! The only thing I did different was to add salt and pepper and some garlic powder ….I always use garlic when making an “Italian” dish. And I used a 24 oz jar of pasta sauce because that was what I had and when I measured it into a measuring cup I only had a little over 1 oz left (so much for correct measurments on the jar) . This was soooooo good! Oh, and to let you know, I used frozen tortellini and did what you told another person to do…I upped the baking time…I baked it for 60 minutes instead of the 50…and it came out perfect! Thank you so very much for this recipe!!
Corey says
Excellent Melinda! I am so glad you loved it 🙂 It is one of our easy family favorites too. XO

We had this for dinner last night and it was delightfully simple to make. Also, had for lunch today and thought it tasted even better reheated. Thanks!!!!
Caroline says
Just curious if anyone has assembled this ahead of time and put in the freezer for later use? This seems like a recipe that could be good for that. Also, any suggestions for substitutions for the italian dressing for those that may be avoiding certain additives and ingredients? This looks yummy and I look forward to trying it!
Veronica says
I was wondering The exact same thing, freezer and then substitution for the Italian dressing, please ley me know if you have a respond for this.
Thank you!
Lisa says

Krista says
Excellent! Made for the first time this evening, was delicious and simple. Even kids (4, 7, 8) didn’t bat an eye at the new dish (atypical for them), and ate their whole serving.
Nicole says
Wow! Made this last night for dinner and it was delish. Have you ever made this as a freezer ziplock meal? I’m thinking I could put everything in a ziplock and freeze it flat. Then put it in the fridge the night before to defrost a bit. Looking for more freezer meals for when baby arrives.
stephanie says
Do you think dry tortellini would work? I have no idea why I bought dry as opposed to refrigerated but I did… ..and I really want to make this tonight. lol
Corey says
Stephanie, I have never used dry, but what you could do is to a quick boil on they ones and then use them. Like cook them for half the time they are directed for. Hope that helps!
Courtney Russell says
I did use dry and it turned out fine! I might try boiling first next time but it ended up fine without it.

I was looking for recipe ideas for what I have on hand- after reading the reviews I about died I had everything already except for the zesty Italian dressing. However, I do have Tuscan house Italian as well as regular. I am assuming that particular kind adds a flavor the others doesn’t. Can anyone suggest what I coukd to produce the same flavor or let me know I can add regular Itailian without jeopardizing taste?
Samantha says
HAs anyone tried this in a crockpot? Right now our oven heats our house up so bad I am trying to find or convert things over rob crockpot cooking
Davina says
So sorry – I see the ounces posted further up in the blog… it just didn’t print on the printable version.
Got it now! Thanks.
Rosemary says
I have made this recipe before and love it. Unfortunately it now appears to be missing the amount of beef broth and I cannot remember how much. Could you look at this thanks.
Corey says
Hi Rosemary, all the ingredient amounts are listed at the bottom of the post in the recipe card. You can also jump directly to the recipe card by clicking the “jump to recipe” button at the top of the post.
Rosemary says
Hi, when I look at both the ingredients at the top and in the card the amount of beef broth just says oz but not how many ounces. Thanks
Corey says
I am so sorry about that. The recipe card is fixed! 10 oz 🙂
Rosemary says
Thank you so much for that. Will print out, it is a keeper.
Sam says

Corey says
You could, but it won’t taste the same 🙂 It’s the secret ingredient!
