How to Make Frozen Chicken Wings in The Air Fryer
- Set your air fryer to 400°F. Preheating helps the wings get crisp right from the start.
If your model does not have a preheat button, just let it run empty for 3 to 4 minutes. - Take the wings straight from the freezer. Do not thaw. Do not rinse. Just place the frozen wings in a single layer into the air fryer basket. If a few are stuck together, it is fine. They will separate once they start cooking. Drizzle the wings with olive oil and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Toss them a little so the seasoning spreads evenly.
- Air fry the wings at 400°F for 10 minutes.
Open the basket and use tongs to break apart any wings that were stuck together. Cook for another 10 minutes. At this point, they should start to look golden and the skin will begin to crisp.
- Remove the wings from the air fryer and transfer them to a bowl. Add your BBQ sauce or whatever sauce you love. Toss to coat every wing.
- Place the sauced wings back into the air fryer. Cook for 3-5 minutes at 400°F to caramelize the sauce and lock in that flavor. They will look sticky, shiny, and amazing.
- If you want to be extra safe, use a meat thermometer. The wings should reach 165°F inside.
