Cooked this the other night and made a couple changes. I used fresh green beans instead of corn and peas. and tasting it before I added flour and water, I thought it was kind of bland. So I added about 4 tablespoons of beef Bisto to thicken and WOW! THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Thank you very much for the recipe…even my husband said it was the b est stew I had ever made!

  2. can i just say, i LOVE this stew. ive made it plenty of times and it has failed to disappoint. i always make it true to recipe. i highly recommend this!

  3. I leave my house very early for work.
Do you see any issues with assembling this together the night before so my kid can take it out of the fridge and put it on before they leave for school?

    1. I think it would work ok. I would leave the liquids separate from the other items.

  4. This is my favorite beef stew! My husband and I love it. I’ve had it going in the crockpot all day long while it snows outside and the house smells heavenly.

Made this stew once before it was excellent.. Early this morning I made another pot, Funny me I added a tablespoon of oregano instead of a teaspoon, Luckily I added it on the very top so I scooped out everything on top and rinsed it off in a colander…. Well see how it ends up later this afternoon… Everybody loves this stew…. Next time at 6 am in the morning I’ll have coffee before start…
    Thanks,
