Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites

Every year, I send out care packages of holiday goodies to faraway friends and family. And along with all the Christmas cookies, I like to include at least one non-cookie treat. It could be a candy or a crunchy, salty snack – just a little something for variety.

This year, I’ve decided on a treat that’s both a candy and a crunchy, salty snack. It includes the classic holiday flavor pairing of chocolate and peppermint…and the also classic combo of chocolate and caramel…and oh yes, the trendy taste of caramel touched with salt.

What could possibly do all this at once, you ask? Allow me to introduce my Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites. Sweet and salty, sticky and crunchy, these Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites are everything you could want in a snack. They make a welcome addition to any Christmas goodie box, or to the buffet table at your next holiday gathering.

Recipe Notes:

  • Pretzel Selection: Choose snap pretzels that are uniform in size for even baking and a neat presentation.
  • Snickers Handling: If your mini Snickers bars are soft, chill them in the fridge for a bit before using to make them easier to handle.
  • Melting Chocolate: When melting almond bark, stir frequently to avoid burning. If using a microwave, heat in short bursts and stir in between.
  • Garnishing: Apply crushed candy canes or sprinkles immediately after dipping in chocolate as it sets quickly.
  • Chilling: Ensure the pretzel bites are fully chilled before dipping in chocolate for a clean finish.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature if not serving immediately.
