French Onion Chicken Noodle Casserole
Which soup do you think is the best kind – French onion, or chicken noodle? Kind of hard to decide, isn’t it? French onion has that rich, savory, oniony broth, and that gorgeous layer of gooey melted cheese. But chicken noodle has those chunks of tender chicken and soft, fat noodles floating in golden broth. How can you possibly choose?
Good news – you don’t have to. This French Onion Chicken Noodle Casserole has everything you love best about both soups – chicken, noodles, onion flavor, melted cheese – all packed into one hearty casserole.
But this dish doesn’t stop there. After combining your two favorite soups, it takes the mixture to the next level by smothering all those ingredients you love in a rich, creamy gravy, loaded with sour cream and condensed mushroom soup. And for the finishing touch, it’s all topped with a layer of golden, crispy French-fried onions.
When you dig into a bowl of this casserole, your fork sinks through layers of crunchy onions, melted cheese, creamy gravy, soft noodles, and tender chicken – all bursting with that savory onion flavor. It’s the best of both soups, and so much more.
