The season of tricks and TREATS is upon us! PS….. this only takes minutes to make.
This Halloween Bark has become an October family tradition. Each year my girls get super excited to make what they refer to as, Spooky Food!
This fun Halloween food is such a great recipe for the kiddos to help out with. First of all, it only takes minutes to make. There are no long waiting sessions for the kids to endure. 🙂 While the adults are melting the chocolate or almond bark, those little fingers can be sorting out food sprinkles and breaking up cookies and pretzels.
Want to mix things up? This melt in your mouth Halloween Bark can be customized for your favorite color and candy. Try milk chocolate, or orange colored melts. Add in leftover Halloween candy. Have FUN!
Halloween Bark – Fun Halloween Food
- 12-14 orange and black sandwich cookies, broken up into large chunks
- 1 cup pretzels, broken into pieces
- 1 pound almond bark or white chocolate melts
- 1 1/2 cups candy corn
- 20-30 candy eyeballs
- 1-2 tablespoons of a variety of Halloween food sprinkles.
- Melt almond bark according to package. I slowly melted mine in a sauce pan over a low heat, until smooth and shiny. Make sure to stir frequently to prevent burning.
- In the meantime, cover a large cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper. Spread broken cookies, pretzels and about 1 cup of the candy corn onto the prepared cookie sheet.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cookie mixture, spreading with spatula to coat evenly.
- Quickly sprinkle remaining candy corn, candy eyeballs and food sprinkles over the almond bark while it is still wet. Place cookie tray into refrigerator until set and firm.
- Break into pieces and enjoy!

Thanks for the fun ideas!
Corey says
Yay! I am so glad you liked it. Isn’t it fun to make?!
Christine says
Fun and easy! I am thinking Christmas bark would be great for handmade gifts…white bark, red sandwich cookies, pretzels and holiday sprinkles. Hmmm…will have to find a good substitute for candy corn.
This working mom really appreciates your food blog. Have added lots of your recipes and ideas to my regular menu rotation. Thanks!
JB says
What about red and green m and m’s? I know they are totally different types of candy….but they’d be festive!
D.J. says
I like J.B.’s suggestion, and I’ll add crushed peppermint candy (maybe better for adults because of texture after crushing) and/or Andes mint pieces (more child-friendly).
Jennifer says
I think I have seen red and green “candy corn”, but I could be wrong.
Diana says
I don’t know why I’m just finding your blog now but so glad I did. 🙂 Following you on FB and Pinterest now. Thanks for this recipe – I’m going to head to the store in a bit to get my ingredients. 🙂 XO

Rachel says
Hey There! I would like to make this tomorrow night. I would like to bag some up and give them as little treats to co-works. I would need about 15 to 20 bags. How many batches do you suggest I make?
Thanks,
Rachel
Corey says
I think 1 1/2 -2 batches would be plenty 🙂
Amy I. says
Excited to make this for Halloween! Do you have a ballpark estimate of how long it takes to set? Thank you!
Corey says
Once you put it in the fridge, it should be set within 30-60 minutes. Hope you enjoy!

Love this cute idea! By any chance, did you happen to find the candy eyeballs in a store or just on amazon.com??? Love your website!!!
Corey says
I have been able to find them in stores and online 🙂
Tasha says
I have seen the eyeballs at Wal-Mart and Jo-Ann Fabrics.
Donna says
I do this with Easter candy and cut up peps. Really good too. Can’t wait to try with Halloween candy. So cute.
Tiffany says
I followed the recipe, but when I poured it over the ingredients then tried to spread it around it just all clumped up and I couldn’t spread it!! Maybe I didn’t get the chocolate hot enough??
Rose says
I tried making this and i had a hard time spreading the almond bark so make sure that you drizzle it very lightly over it completely before trying to spread. Otherwise you end up with a big mess. A mess you can eat but dosen’t look like the picture. It takes practice and patience.
Christina says
I made this, it’s SO good! unfortunately my walmart didn’t have halloween oreo’s but they did have limg green candy melts! I also used pretzel chips instead of sticks. It was a little hard to spread, make sure to drizzle like Rose said, save a few pieces to stick to the top to make it pretty, because most of it ends up covered up.
Jennie says
I am wondering if about a tablespoon of coconut oil (my go to oil) would help it to spread better and give it a shine. I think this is what I will be taking for my son’s class party!
Joanna Qzk says
I love it . It´s so simple, Fast-to-do and colorful! We will definatelly try it anytime soon.
sherri says
do you have to store in the fridge or will it hold up well at room temp?
Corey says
It will hold up at room temp, but if you are going to store for a while, I would keep it in the fridge.
Cathy Lawdanski says
Made this with my grandkids last night! Loved it. Sharing in my newsletter today!
Shea says
If you melted more chocolate would it be easier to spread? Or should I just try to pour it evenly ?
Rita says
I am planning on making this for my uncle’s super awesome Halloween party. I am sure it’s going to be a hit
Jennifer says
I just made my second batch tonight! Planning on making it for the bake sale at my son’s school.
Laken says
Love this idea! How long will it keep? I plan on making a batch for my family, but also some to pack up and share. Halloween is 7 days away. Is that too long?
Corey says
I think that would be ok if kept refrigerated.
virginia m dabdoub says
Love this recipe! I want to make it with my students, question, would putting it in the freezer help it set quicker before class ends?
Corey says
Yes, that would help it set much quicker
Holly Jones says
Could I use white chocolate chips in place of the candy melts or almond bark? Would this change the consistency too much and would it set up properly?
Corey says
I haven’t tired chips yet Holly. So I can’t say for sure. Maybe one of our readers have and can comment to help.
