How to Make PERFECT Hard Boiled Eggs in the Oven

How to hard boil perfect eggs in the oven - Family Fresh Meals

I love hard boiled eggs.

Why don’t I make them all the time? Well, the thought of getting a big old pot of water boiling, and then timing the boiling, flame on, flame off,  lid on , lid off…. UGH!

Half the time I end up timing something wrong, and end up with over cooked, hard to peel eggs. OMG…. peeling hard boiled eggs is the pits!So when I kept seeing the idea on Pinterest, of hard boiling eggs in the oven, I HAD to give it a try.

Ok people. This is a game changer. Eggs go in the oven for 30 minutes, then in a bowl of ice water to cool. That’s IT! You wanna know the BEST part? The peel practically slides off in one piece. I kid you not!

How to Make PERFECT Hard Boiled Eggs in the Oven

  1. Preheat your  oven to 325 degrees F. If you know your oven runs cooler, try 350 temp. Place eggs in a muffin tin to prevent them from rolling around. Cook for 30 minutes. How to hard boil perfect eggs in the oven - Eggs in muffing tin pan
  2. After the 30 minutes, remove eggs from the oven and place in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. I left them in there for about 10 minutes. How to hard boil perfect eggs in the oven - Eggs cooling in an egg bath

I was so excited when I saw this. I tried it this morning. One egg peeled perfectly while the other didn’t peel well at all. Oh well, I still feel baking them was easier. Hopefully it works better next time.

I only tried this with 4 eggs, thank goodness I didn’t do a full dozen. All 4 “blew up”??? they were farm fresh, could that be why???

    1. I have never had any blow-up, but have heard of that happening to some people. If this has happened to anyone else, could you leave some tips?

  3. I just tried making these with 5 eggs. FREAKING AWESOME. 1 did not peel well, and the other 4 were a breeze. I did have a few small brown spots, nothing that bothered me. I could not taste the brown spots so they were just an aesthetic blemish as far as I am concerned. these were about 6 days past the sale by date, so plenty old enough to boil. Tasted just fine to me. I will be doing this from no one as it was super easy, and eggs are super awesome and super healthy 😀

I did exactly what you said and just tried 4 the first time around even though I needed lots more for several macaroni salads. That batch worked great! My problems came with the next batch when I walked away and didn’t hear the timer! Aaahhh! I think they were in for about 40 minutes before I got back to them. They were next to impossible to peel and definitely way over done. My advice to those who are having trouble peeling: make sure you are not over cooking them! I will definitely be using this method from now on! Thanks for sharing!

I didn’t believe this, so I had to do it. I absolutely loved the way they turned out. I’ll never boil them again. So much easier. Thank you.
