Instant Pot Turkey Breast with Gravy
Turkey plays kind of a weird role in American cuisine. For one day a year, it’s the absolute star of the show. On Thanksgiving Day, roast turkey gets featured on tables all across the USA… and then it just kind of disappears. Many of us don’t even think about turkey again until the next Thanksgiving rolls around.
Why is this? Most likely, it’s because roasting a whole bird is way too much work, not to mention much food, for an everyday meal. But who says you need to cook a whole bird? A single turkey breast is just the right size for a family dinner. And better still, it’s a size that fits in the Instant Pot!
Just rub it with butter and spices, pour on a cup of chicken broth, and give it half an hour at high pressure, and your turkey will be tender and juicy. All it needs is a quick shot under the broiler to brown the skin. And if you thicken up the juice left in the pot with a little cornstarch in water, you’ll have a lovely, golden gravy to go with it.

Recipe Tips:
What if my turkey breast is bigger or smaller than the one in the recipe?
A good rule of thumb is to cook it for 6-8 minutes per pound if it’s fresh. And always a natural release. You should check the turkey with a digital thermometer once done to make sure the temperature is at minimum 165 degrees F in the thickest part of the breast.
What side dishes go well with Instant Pot Turkey Breast?
Anything you like with your Thanksgiving turkey will also go with this. For a starch, try mashed or baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, or my Easy Crockpot Stuffing. And since you don’t need to wait until November to serve this dish, you can add any vegetable that’s in season!

So easy, so delicious, so quick. Instructions are spot on and I didn’t change or add anything. Sure, the skin doesn’t brown but what poultry item does brown in the IP?! This is the moistest turkey breast I’ve made in 25+ years of cooking. Corey, you nailed this one!
So happy you loved it!!!
