Chicken Parmesan Dip
I just love turning my favorite dishes into dips. I’ve done it with pizza and jalapeno poppers, Reuben sandwiches and pulled pork. So when I was trying to think up some new dip ideas for the upcoming Big Game, I got out my favorite cookbooks and started looking for recipes to adapt. And what should my eye light on but that Italian favorite, chicken parmesan.
Right away I realized this was going to have to be a hot dip. What makes chicken parm so special is the way the hot, gooey cheese stretches and oozes all over the chicken, and you just can’t get that from a cold dip. So I did a little fiddling and figured out just the right blend of cheeses – cream cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan – that would melt perfectly into a smooth, dippable mixture.
Then, I loaded it up with all the other ingredients that go into this classic dish: tender shredded chicken, zesty marinara sauce, and the perfect blend of Italian seasonings. And to supply that crunch that makes a good chicken parmesan complete, I served it up with little mini toasts.
Dish out this dip at your game-day party, and enjoy a little taste of Italy right in your living room.
