Sure, I like my recipes to be elegant, but when you’re a busy mom, fast and easy is even more important.

Fortunately, in this case, you get all three. Because thisEasy Crockpot Beef Tips With Gravy recipe is a super easy, hearty meal that practically makes itself—but also comes out impressive enough to serve to company. And all you need are a handful of ingredients to make it!

It takes about ten minutes to toss everything into the crock at the start of the day (except the cornstarch). If you’ve got the beef and onion already cut up, then it only takes three minutes. Then it just cooks all by itself for seven hours, and at dinnertime, all you have to do is stir in your cornstarch with a bit of water to thicken up the gravy.

Serve this hot over egg noodles or mashed potatoes, and you’ll have a meal your family and friends will be gushing over!

  1. The only thing I do different is use the beefy onion soup mix and a cup of water instead of the beef broth, onions and garlic.

Great recipe, I substituted French onion soup, family not fond of mushrooms, added carrots, just comfort food!

  3. Donna Callahan says:

I loved this recipe, and I opened 2 12oz bags of Kluski egg noodles right in the crockpot , for an extra 1/2 hr, and served. So delicious and easy!

  4. This recipe is now my favorite! So good I’m planning to double the recipe to serve at Christmas. If I double the amount of meat to 4 pounds, should I cook it longer than 7 hours? And what size crockpot is recommended? Not sure if it makes a big difference in time but appreciate your help!

    1. I would use a 8qt crockpot for that amount of meat. You might need to add an additional hour, so just check on the meat after the normal cooking time and go from there.

    2. Thank you Corey, I will do that!

If I want to make extra gravy would I double everything except the meat? Or is that not recommended?

    3. I haven’t ever made extra gravy, but if I was going to… that is what I would try. Doubling everything but the meat 🙂 Let us know how it turns out if you try.

Update: doubling the gravy worked out perfectly!!! So delicious and makes great leftovers with the extra sauce. This has become a family fav. Thanks Corey!

  5. This was soo good! I usually make beef tips stove top and they were never this good. I did tweak the recipe a little. I was short on time so i cooked on high for about 5 hours in a 7qt crock pot! And i seasoned with smoked paprika salt and pepper and put a lil flour on my meat then browned first. And i didnt have brown gravy so i used a au ju gravy packet and i added 2 tablespoons of worcheshire! It was a hit my picky kids loved it! Meat fall apart tender!
