Waffle Pizza Dippers

4 pieces of Waffle Pizza Dippers stacked on a plate with a side of red sauceThe girls love waffles, so the waffle iron is always out. I found the idea for this recipe in a small add in a magazine and since my waffle iron was out once AGAIN… I thought, Why not?

Don’t get grossed out right away. The waffle part isn’t really waffles…. it’s crescent roll. YUM, right?!?
I’m not gonna lie, it was a little messy, but sooooo worth it. You could easily make this vegetarian by omitting the pepperoni and adding additional cheese. Hope you enjoy! XO Corey

How to make Waffle Pizza Dippers

  1. 1. Preheat waffle iron to medium/high. Unroll first can of dough flat on a working surface.
  2. Separate each crosswise, making 2 7x6inch rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. Repeat for second can. You should have 4 rectangles like this picture.
  3. Combine cheese, basil, oregano and set aside.
  4. Place one 7x6inch rectangle on the waffle iron. (mine was a little short as you can see 🙂 hehe)
  5. Place 1/2(about 1 cup) of the cheese mixture on the dough.
  6. Top with layer of pepperoni. For vegetarian option, omit pepperoni, and add more cheese if desired.
  7. Top with another 7x6in rectangle . Close waffle iron and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Repeat with other 2 dough sheets. Cut into  triangles and serve with side of pizza sauce for dipping.

Kid and adult approved! Hope you enjoy!

  1. I love this idea! I’ve made pizza crescents plenty of times, but never thought to cook them in a waffle iron. My daughter won’t eat the crescents normally because they’re buttery and “messy” but she loves waffles. This will be fun to make for her. Thanks!
