  • Turning this classic Mexican dip into a spooky Halloween graveyard dip is super fun and easy – it’s great for making with the kids too!
  • Get creative and cut out some bats, cats, or anything else you want from the tortillas to add to the decoration of this dip.

  • The graveyard dip is then decorated with tortilla chips as the tombstones, strips of baked tortillas as the fence posts and chopped olives that are placed around the tombstones and fence posts as “dirt”.

HOW TO STORE HALLOWEEN GRAVEYARD 7 LAYER BEAN DIP

  • This Halloween Graveyard 7 Layer Bean Dip can be refrigerated in the 9×13” pan, covered tightly with aluminium foil or plastic wrap, or in an airtight container, for up to 5 days.

CAN I MAKE THIS HALLOWEEN DIP IN ADVANCE?

  • Yes, you can! Make it the day before you intend to serve it, leaving the shredded lettuce, and tortilla chips, and baked tortillas off till just prior to serving. It’s great to have crispy lettuce and tortilla chips which is why I recommend only adding them just before you serve this up to guests otherwise they may get soggy in the refrigerator.
  • To save some time, you could also shred your lettuce and store it in a separate airtight container overnight.

CAN I MAKE THIS DIP GLUTEN-FREE?

  • Absolutely! The dip itself is gluten-free. The only thing that isn’t gluten-free are the flour-based tortilla chips and baked tortillas which can easily be replaced with gluten-free versions.

WHAT TO SERVE ALONGSIDE THIS GRAVEYARD 7 LAYER BEAN DIP

  • Apart from tortilla chips, consider adding the following food items to your spread that can be used to dig in and scoop up the dip:
    – Baby carrots;
    – Sliced celery sticks;
    – Long slices of cucumber;
    – Your favorite choice of crackers;
    – Toasted baguette or rustic bread.
