Looks yummy! Thanks for sharing.
I don’t know if you noticed that on the writing above your photo of the meatballs, that family is spelled wrong. It is currently saying familly.
Corey says
Oh man! Thanks for catching that Kerry 🙂
Jillian says
Hi!
I’ve made this a few times already, AMAZING and everyone LOVES it! But I have a question.. I have company coming over tonight and I won’t be home until about 4.. They are coming before 7! What would happen if I cooked them on high so they are done quicker?
Corey says
Yes, you can do them on HIGH Jillian. Just make sure to stir them often 🙂
Jillian says
Awesome thank you!!
Sandy says
where do you buy bennet’s chili sauce ? I would really love to make this recipe, Thanks
Maddie says
Does anyone know what these would turn out like w/o the soy sauce? Could you use teriyaki sauce instead?
Amber says
Can you use turkey meatballs?
Corey says
Sure! Sounds like a yummy idea Amber 🙂
ryan says
I use this recipe and and cook 6 lbs at a time. I also add shiracha hot sauce to give a sweet and spicy. people absolutely love them.
Corey says
I love the idea to add hot sauce! YUM 🙂
Mel says
Hi!
I just put this in the crock pot. It didn’t look like there would be enough sauce, so I’m hoping it won’t burn my crock pot 🙂
Also, since I’d like it to be ready for supper, can I put it on high and just cut the time in half? TIA!
Corey says
HIGH might cause the sauce to burn like you are concerned about.
Mel says
oh! and I didn’t have soy sauce, do you think A1 sauce would taste ok? I’m a little nervous about it changing the taste of the recipe, but I will let you know how it goes!
Corey says
A1 would really change the taste. I have never tried it with A1, so who, knows, it might just turn out great!

This recipe sounds delish! I regularly make meatballs with chili sauce and cranberry sauce, which is always a huge hit! I think my peeps will enjoy this new recipe! And frozen meatballs work great. Thanks so much!
Jennifer says
So I work eigh plus hours a day. I know about the Xmas timer and I bought one but my question is if I set the timer for four hours and it sits for four hours won’t the food turn bad? Or vice versa? Help! I’m always burning my crock meals like the crockpot lasagna was totally burnt tasted great on the top layer though lol
Tammy says

Michelle @ Modern Acupuncture says
Love that this uses frozen meatballs. Right up my alley! I think my coworkers would love these as a little pick-me-up!
Celia says
Love this recipe, I’ve made it a bunch of times and it always turns out great! I usually double the recipe or do one and a half times it, because I love sauce , heh. That way there’s enough to put on rice as well.
Jennifer says
So delicious! I was super skeptical of this recipe for some reason and have had it bookmarked for months, but I’m so happy I finally tried it!
I followed it exactly, with the only exception of doubling the sauce since I had it over white rice and wanted extra drizzle.
Thanks a bunch!
Curt says
These are excellent and I always make a large batch to have as leftovers. I use 20 oz. bags of Angus Beef Meatballs (Cooked Perfect brand. They are “dinner” sized and prefer them over the basic appetizer size. I like to have extra sauce, so I use 3 bags and make 3x the sauce ingredients. It all fits well in my large 6 quart slow cooker. These are served along with 6 cups or so of “sticky rice” that I make in my rice cooker. Tonight I think I am going to try adding steamed French style green beans in the last hour of cooking. Have to try something to get my partner to eat a few veggies?

So easy to make and my family loved them! We even make meatball sandwiches with them!

Thanks for the great recipe. I was in a bind today because I needed something quick and easy for a Memorial Day weekend potluck.
I had 3 bags of 40 oz meatballs in the freezer, quadrupled the sauce, poured it over them, and put them in the oven at 350 degrees. I used 3 glass pans, 9″ x 12″. The directions on the meatball package said only 20 minutes, but it took about an hour. Meanwhile I was at the party, and almost forgot them.
They were a huge hit! Everyone thought I had some secret recipe that took hours and hours of work. I had people asking for the recipe all evening. They disappeared off of the table in the first 15 minutes. I’ve never made anything for a potluck that took only 5 minutes to throw together.
Thanks so much.
toni says
What size meatballs? 1 oz. or 1/2 oz.? I have 1/2 oz. but a very large bag! Am doing a test for a wedding appetizer.
Deb says
I made these for a party. On a hot day, I like making something in the crockpot. The recipe is great because it’s very easy and it tasted great. Thanks!
Nicole Platt says
Can you use this receipe and cook with Chicken instead?
Juanita says
Any way I can cook on high to cut down on the cook time ?
Tiffany says
I didn’t have honey so I subbed some homemade apricot preserves and it tasted delicious. Everyone LOVED it!
Corey says
Great substitute ideas Tiffany!
Karen says
Please about how many meatballs in a 28 oz bag…I bought a huge bag
Kelly says
These was very good but I added some balsamic vinegar. It cut through the sweetness and gave it just a little extra tanginess!
Al says
Can I cook on high for 4 hours instead of low for 4 hours? My crock pot doesn’t let me cook on low for 4 hours. I can only cook on low for 8 hours or 10 hours.
Thanks!
Vanessa says
This was delicious! My kids are very picker eaters and they loved the meatballs. Thanks for sharing!
Kim Mork says
can you use frozen turkey meatballs, i made with beef and they were great! having a get-together and some friends dont eat beef.
Corey says
You sure can Kim!
Linh says
I’ve used this recipe many times and is one of my favourites because I get to use my crockpot. The sauce is very good, but if you’re someone who likes extra sauce or if you’re planning on storing it for the next day (college student, leftovers are life savers!), definetely double up on the sauce. I’ve used store-brand meatballs and they were alright. I bought better quality meatballs last week and I just put them in the crockpot. Hopefully these will look just as good as the photos here. Thanks for the recipe!
Tia says
Made these tonight. They were delicious! Not too sweet at all which is surprising given the amount of suger and honey. The only thing I changed is that I substituted half the ketchup with barbecue sauce, since I don’t like too much ketchup flavor. Definitely a keeper!
Rachel says
I doubled the recipe since I have a 8 qt crock pot. Do I double the time on low?
Amanda W says
Going to start these soon as my baby goes to nap. My toddler is mildly obsessed with meatballs at the moment and I have ran out of ideas. Hopefully he will enjoy these and I can add them to our meatball rotation, lol. I have some left over cilantro and lime rice we will serve these with. Thanks for the recipe!
MJ Ferguson says
These look amazing, and I can’t wait to try?
Lita Watson says
I see that the mixture liquid you have used for the dish is suitable for most of dish, such as swede 😀 Can i make it more and store it in refrigerator?
Susan says
These were delicious. I was a bit skeptical about using pre-made meatballs but I read the ingredients on several brands to find those closest to homemade. The sauce was delicious and everyone loved them. Definitely an easy and tasty dish for a crowd.
Jackie says
THANK YOU!! This is now my go-to meatball recipe. I used gluten free frozen meatballs for my hubby & doubled the sauce. DELICIOUS!!
lessien says
Hi there, how long should I need to cook if doing fresh meatballs?
Thank you
Corey says
I would brown the outside of the meatballs and then do 4 hours on low.
NorwayCalling says
These are simmering in my crockpot right now! ??
Sylvain says
If I were to make the meatballs myself and cook them in the crock pot, how long would you say it would take to cook them?
Kelly Maggiore says
I made these meatballs for some friends and they were a big hit! I cooked them in a large pot over medium-low heat for about 45 minutes, as I didn’t have time to cook in the crockpot. Thanks for this recipe! It’s a keeper!
Amy says
These are so awesome! I have served them at four parties now, and they are always a big hit. I think everyone assumes they are the regular slow cooker party meatballs but are pleasantly surprised by the taste twist when they try them. I make them gluten free with gluten free frozen meatballs and gluten free soy sauce. I double the sauce ingredients and cook on high for 2.5 hours. Perfect and delicious!
Cole says
Made these for dinner tonight. Yum. Delicious. Was worried they may be overly sweet. Nope, perfect. Kids loved them too, made them with rice and salad.
Suzie Q says
In cooking class in school we learned that T was or tablespoon and t was for teaspoon. Wasnt necessary to put Tbs or tsp.
Renu says
Can you make these in a insta pot? What would be time adjustment?
AnnnieQ says
This is the second time I’ve made these. The first time was for a Christmas get together and today for the LII Superbowl. I tweaked the recipe just a bit for our preferences, added a bit of Siracha sauce just to give it an extra zing and added a bit of water (as we like things a bit saucier). Thank you for the recipe.
Krystal says
I was leery about trying a new recipe out during a party, but I wanted something other than the same old grape jelly sauce. I’m so glad I found this recipe and took a chance, because it was a huge hit during my Superbowl Party this year! I doubled the recipe and still didn’t have any left! I will definitely make this again!
Clarissa says
I’ve made this recipe so many times over the last couple years for potlucks and parties. It’s always a hit – I’ve had lots of people ask me for the recipe and I send them this link. Thanks for posting!
Corey says
This comment made me smile 🙂 Thanks Clarissa!
Ira says
How long should you cook for a 6 qt crock pot?
Corey says
I have used a 6qt for this recipe with this cook time.
Kathryn Weeks says
If I want to cook twice the meatballs do I just double the recipe?
Corey says
No, you might have to added 40-60 mins more if cooking on high. It all depends on your crockpot. So just keep an eye on them.
