  1. Can Italian style meatballs be used without changing the flavor of recipe?

    1. I don’t think that would change the flavor that much Michelle

  2. Probably the best cocktail meatballs I have ever had or made! My party absolutely inhaled them. Next time I make them, I’m going to have to double or triple the recipe.

It was late and I had nothing ready for a quick dinner – so I have this a go but adapted it to the instant pot. I did also add a dash of garlic powder (because I wasn’t giving my meatballs a few hits for flavors to meld) and a sprinkle of crushed red peppers (because yumm).

I added 1 c beef broth to my IP, placed the trivet in and poured meatballs on top. I poured about 1/2 the sauce mix over the meatballs and pressure cooked for 10 minutes, then manually released the steam.

I removed the trivet, poured about half of the broth mix out and have it a good stir then turned to sauté to reduce the broth/sauce. I added remaining sauce and stayed until sauce had thickened. It turned out pretty. Good. Next time I’ll wait to add the sauce until the pressure cook is up.

I had everything on hand to make this. I cooked the meatballs in the oven and let them get a little brown to hold up against the sauce. I added a splash or two of worcestershire sauce and a capful of apple cider vinegar. I added green peppers and onions just a personal preference. The sauce is absolutely everything and easy to make ahead which i did. The crockpot just served to keep them warm throughout the event. Great recipe and this sauce will definitely be kept for other things.

I make this about two times a month, it is a regular in my home 🙂 Love it so much. My picky toddler eats a ton herself.
